Rules of the Game: Q7 2009

Only one of the following organizations requires your dog touch the contact zone on the UP ramp of the A-frame and Dogwalk. Which one is it?

a. CPE
b. NADAC
c. USDAA
d. AKC
e. DOCNA

That would be c. USDAA (I think!)

You are correct, Andrea! The answer is c. USDAA. Your dog has not completed the A-frame or the Dogwalk correctly at USDAA trials, unless they place at least part of one paw in the contact zone on the UP plank as well as the DOWN plank. It's also better for your dog's physical well-being if they learn NOT to leap the up contact zone. Well done!

RULES OF THE GAME Contest

Each Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. EST, we'll post a new question about agility organization rules and regulations. The answers will often be found in the rules posted at each of the "popular agility organizations in the U.S." listed in the March 23, 2009 post. The first person to answer the question correctly wins a $5 credit to be applied toward lessons, run-thrus, or field use fees. (Note: The credit cannot be applied to guest instructor lesson fees, but can be applied to field use fees incurred during guest instructor lessons.) Submitted answers must be posted as a comment to the "question of the day," and must include the person's name -- either in the text or as a signature. The correct answer and winner for each question will be posted the following day. If no comments are received in response to a question, the answer will be posted when the new question is posted and the previous question will be "closed." In order to maintain a fairly level playing field, any one person is permitted to win up to 8 times in a 6-month period. Credits earned must be used within the calendar year earned.

These rules are subject to change as needed. Indication of updates and changes will be posted on the "home" page of this site.
